Becoming a Páramo Ambassador: A Journey into Ethical Gear and Wild Places.

Becoming a Páramo Ambassador: A Journey into Ethical Gear and Wild Places.

When I first picked up a camera and headed into the wild, I didn’t imagine it would lead me here writing a blog as an ambassador for one of the UK’s most respected ethical outdoor brands.

Last week, Páramo Directional Clothing published an interview with me as part of their ambassador programme, and I’ve got to admit, it feels pretty surreal. You can read the full piece here: Our New Ambassador – Paul Browning

In the interview, I talk about some of my most memorable photography experiences, as well as the rewarding and challenging aspects of my job. One of which is the ethical and conservational responsibility that I feel is so important.  It’s not just about telling nature’s stories through my lens, but about doing it in a way that honours the amazing places I’m privileged to visit.

I’ve worn plenty of outdoor gear over the years, but what drew me to Páramo wasn’t just the performance, it was also their ethics. Their commitment to sustainability, fair manufacturing, and creating clothing that lasts not just one season, but for years. In a world obsessed with fast everything … that matters!

Working with them feels like an extension of what I already do. I’m not interested in disposable fashion or throwaway culture – my focus is always on connection with the land, with the wildlife, and with the people who care enough to protect it.

The questions they asked in the interview really made me reflect. What drives me to be out there before dawn? What does being in nature do for me personally? Why is it important to choose brands that align with your values? They’re the kind of questions I think we should all ask more often, not just about photography or kit, but about how we live.

Massive thanks to the team at Páramo for inviting me into the ambassador family. I’m excited to keep doing what I love and seeing what great things we can do together!
